The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has accepted the Alliance for Biosecurity Animal Model Working Group's proposal to present a program "Application of the Animal Rule in Vaccine Countermeasures Development" on Sunday, 21 February 2010, during the 8th ASM Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Meeting (21-24 February 2010 in Baltimore, MD). The Alliance for Biosecurity is also working with other conference organizers to develop focused and interactive meetings on animal model development. Details will posted at this site.

The Alliance’s comments focused on the roles of government and industry in building an effective public-private partnership for the development of new medicines and vaccines to counter bioterrorism and other threats to biosecurity.
